Been looking at NFTs for a while. Basically I think they are trash, just cos of what has happened with them, masses of people trying to cash in with rubbish. But all the time they have been around, I have been reminded about a project I had for my unfinished MA where I made a website and hid information in the metadata of the images. I was not tech savvy enough but the idea was that something could be saved to the metadata of a file, that would need to be not possible to erase, and that could one day prove the ownership of a file. So.. I was ahead of my time. The other thing that NFTs remind me of is a quote by David Hockney where he said he followed a splash painting nhe had originally sold for $200, and was not going for millions. Well with an NFT, you can write into it the fact that the artist does always get a percentage of the sale when its sold. That’s surely a good thing, despite David Hockney being furiously against NFTs.
Anyway, my favorite Blender tutorial guy lays it all out, and I just need a place to put this video, so I can be reminded of it. What better place than my website.
